Mr. Edwin Yap Ken Vui

Mr. Edwin Yap is the Head of Finance in the Greater China region for Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank).  He has been with Maybank for over 10 years and previously held roles in compliance and risk management in the Bank’s Hong Kong operations.

Edwin is from the Malaysian State of Sabah. He began his career in auditing and consulting with major accounting firms, Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young in Sabah, Malaysia. He also worked with KPMG in Hong Kong and with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sydney, Australia before joining Maybank.

Edwin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and CPA Australia.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Australia and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).

Edwin has a great interest in history and is a soccer fan. His lifelong dream is to one day travel around the world visiting museums and the homes of famous soccer clubs, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
