Dr Aik Wei Shen

Wei Shen Aik is an Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University. As a scientist, Wei Shen studies 3D structures of biomolecules and designs novel therapies against cancer and viral infection. Born and bred in Teluk Intan, Perak, Wei Shen went to the UK for his bachelor and doctorate degrees at Cambridge and Oxford. After that, he spent some time in the US as a researcher before ending up in Hong Kong in 2019. Outside work, Wei Shen likes to learn about history and current affairs through reading and talking to people from different backgrounds. For fun, Wei Shen enjoys food, coffee, and movies. He can also be encouraged to swim and play more badminton.
